Dearest Stephanie, I've come to the end of busy, since last autumn period. There is a lot of joy in being an independent educator, in being part of the emergent Ecoversity Alliance, in so many things I get to do... but there is juggling too, and I haven't been following your recent posts.
I'm so sorry you have been through such an upheaval, even though new doors are opening. I know many others in toxic higher education settings, over-worked like crazy or under-employed, and so shocked and saddened you too have been experiencing this. I'm especially saddened to hear this in the context of Upeace too as I have always thought it must be special as it hosts Earth Charter International as well. I hope all move forward to care and respect each staff member - it is a tragedy that education has lost its way with so much pressure.
There is such a shift needed to care for our teachers, especially those inspiring, beloved, generous beings like yourself and for the entire educational landscape. You gave me such encouragement in one walk between buildings in recent years... to hear about the Ecoversity Alliance was such a boost (and looking forward to reading their new publication with your essay - I just downloaded it last week).
I probably have to get in line ;) and you need time to recover, find your new paths, but in the future I'd love to have you connect with our small Haumea Ecoversity. And I'm delighted to hear of new connections with the Garrison Institute for you too, I sometimes view such profound talks there from afar.
Loving thinking of you dancing this all out above and with forest and hearing about the many who you have inspired turning now to support you.
Aw, Cathy, your note means so much, every word of it! Thank you ❤️ I’d love to connect with Haumea at some point- it’d be an honor. Maybe we could also chat about your independent educator path, as I see that as a possible direction I might be heading in 🙂 we will keep inspiring each other no matter where the path takes us. big hugs to you! 🤗
Aw thank you Shlomo! Once you and I had a conversation during my first year (Saturday adventure club! 😃) and we talked about enjoying every moment we got to be in the UPEACE bubble. I came back to that conversation often, especially in the harder times, and really tried to experience my time there that way, knowing it was impermanent (as all things are!). Know that that little conversation and reminder kept me going. Hope you are doing well 🙂
Got shivers reading more about the divine (and accelerated) timing of everything. I've been experiencing similar crackles and sparks of synchronicity and confirmations from the wider field, and it's exciting to follow along on your journey and allow myself to fully feel my highs and lows along with you. I feel so fortunate that our paths crossed for a second time in 2018/19 because I probably otherwise wouldn't be involved in your life and story this way. 💓

I'm sorry your time at Upeace had to end like that. Best wishes on finding your next step, I'm confident it'll be great!

I am so grateful too, my friend! And love to hear you’re experiencing these crackles too 🤩 crackles in the cracks!! ✨🎇
And WHERE is the fellowship??
Virtual/online, and will include an in-person segment at the garrison institute in upstate New York likely in December 🙂
